Pictured above is the first woodpecker; I have now developed the design to include the bright red cap and glossy green wings, and the bird is lacqered to keep the colours.  

This woodpecker has a copper tree-stump with nest-hole.  Like most of the sculptures, it is perfectly happy outdoors, and can be placed as a point of interest in a garden.  The tree-stump can be provided, or a branch, or just the bird on its own. The bird is made to a size fitting with its surroundings.
