My elephant calf is similar in design to the adult elephant, but younger in character. This calf might break into a playful clumsy run; the big elephant would never do anything so irresponsible. He carries a broken-off branch like a toy, a source of inquisitive amusement. He is full of potential, and there is within him the knowledge that in years to come he will grow into those outsize ears, and full adult ponderous size and status.
