My giraffe’s head and face. Very pleased to have captured his expression.
My giraffe is about the right size for a few-month-old youngster, and at 2.5 metres tall, that is half the height of an adult. Their biology, to be able to cope with the blood pressure needed to supply the brain, yet still to be able to lower that head to the ground to drink, is amazing. I have made mine by shaping the patterned pieces of hide, brazed onto a frame skeleton. One day, if the opportunity arises, I’d love to tackle the challenge of a full-size adult.
