Emily Stone Copper Seahorse Seaweed Sculpture

sea-horse and seaweed sculpture

The seahorse is such a peculiarly-shaped creature it is hard to believe either design or evolution could have led to their existence; but there they are, so we had better just enjoy them. This one is anchored in some bladder-wrack seaweed, which I have coloured by accelerating the natural verdigris process. Cutting and cleaning all those wavy edges, and beating all the bladder-bubbles, takes forever!

£1,250. The sculpture stands 130cm tall.
