Emily Stone Copper Shell Clam Sculpture

clam shell sculpture

One of the lovely things about the shells is the opportunity to play with colour, created with a wash of flame at exactly the right temperature, and then quenching. The lacquer fixes the colour by excluding air, as described on the ‘Information about Sculptures’ page.

I have enjoyed making several types of shell, and they can be seen elsewhere in the gallery.

24cm by 26cm, £125 (This is the large size.)
